Maintenance Technician
Position Summary
Our company Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring our childcare centers are safe and meet the
highest standards of operational efficiency. This role completes a wide array of general maintenance
tasks while working in a child-friendly environment. The Maintenance Technician must be available to
adapt quickly to changing needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Performs routine repairs and maintenance, to include HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, lighting,
painting, furniture assembly, groundskeeping, drywall repair, and similar projects. Uses various
Company approved tools and resources in a safe manner.
• Ensures the safety and upkeep of school facilities, including classrooms, restrooms, common areas,
playgrounds and equipment.
• Responds to maintenance requests timely in alignment with Company protocols, prioritizing critical
repairs.
• Ensures all maintenance tasks comply with safety standards and local regulations.
• Ensures all areas are free from hazards, immediately addressing any potential safety risks.
• Collaborates with center management teams to schedule repairs with minimum disruption to
operations.
• Conducts comprehensive inspections using Company protocol. Implements timely repairs of any issues
found during inspections.
• Maintains well-stocked inventory of maintenance tools and supplies at all times.
• Assists with setting up, moving and maintaining equipment, furniture and fixtures.
• Performs accurate recordkeeping of all maintenance work via Company software platform, to include
work performed and supplies used.
• Communicates with staff, families and children in a respectful and kind manner.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in maintenance, facilities or handyman work.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general repairs. Knowledge of power tool safety and
proper usage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proven problem solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast based environment while managing many
tasks.
• Familiarity with safety standards and practices.
• Unrestricted current driver’s license and clean background check.
• Flexibility in scheduling availability, to include on-call responsibilities in the evenings and on weekends.

• Ability to drive Company vehicles to numerous centers and work sites to complete tasks on a daily basis.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time (up to 8 hours), bend, crouch, climb, balance, reach, lift and carry
up to 80 lbs regularly.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, to include rain, snow, wind and storms.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to handle small tools, write and type.
• Clear speech and hearing for effective communication with children, parents, and staff.
• Visual ability to complete maintenance projects and react quickly to any safety hazards.
• Ability to work in an environment with frequent odors, which could be the result of cleaning products,
food preparation, children’s activities or other typical workplace conditions.
